Ellie Galvin
Sound Factory Live Videographer
Ellie started off in the creative industry in a similar manner to her older brother and Video Editor Jake Galvin. Ellie was exposed to all things creative through being brought up in a creative family and environment. This eventually led to time at college where Ellie got to collaborate with the media, music and live technician students; learning valuable key skills that would later become stepping stones towards becoming the skilled videographer she is today. Shortly after college she found herself immersed within modelling work. However, over time Ellie found more creativity being behind the camera, rather than in front; directing rather than being directed; adding her personal flair to the projects.
Ellie later landed a job with STA Travel. “This was perfect for me as I got to mix two passions together, travel and video. I bought myself a Sony Alpha DSLR. Shortly after I booked a trip to HongKong and Bali, then won a trip through work to Australia. Using this camera, plus a Go Pro borrowed from Jake I dove straight into travel videography, I loved to document moments I could re-live in the future. The video footage I took was used for promotional brand videos (STA TRAVEL) all around the country.”
During this time Ellie’s Dad was in the Folk Gypsy band Mad Dog Mcrea, and so Ellie worked selling merchandise at their gigs and capturing content for their socials. Through opportunities presented to Ellie over the years, she has networked with up and coming musician/artists in the South West, creating and filming content for artists such as: Rue, Freshly Squeezed and more recently Alex Harts album launch. This has also included BBC live sessions with Eyes of Caelum and work with GalVID filming Andy Quick band. With Ellie’s eye for detail and creative attitude towards capturing the action, Artists working with Ellie are in safe hands here at Sound Factory.
